If it becomes too difficult and she's unable to offer anymore, I go back to a level where she can offer again. Then I raise the criteria again, but more gradually than last time to try to get past where it stalled previously.

The goal is to add the distraction so gradually that she barely notices each change and can simply continue to offer the same behaviour.

It's far from perfect, but hey, it's the first session and only the first four repetitions are exactly what she's done before.

To teach stand and sit during movement, I'll do the same thing. There she's also only worked with each one in front.

With a well-trained foundation behaviour, you can get very far with just a 6-minute session.

Would you like to get properly started with teaching foundation behaviours?\
Or begin to challenge the foundation behaviours with distractions the way I did in this session?

I can help you with that!

In this course we worked on exactly this!

From teaching foundation behaviours to chaining them together to competition exercises and everything in between!

👉 Foundation Behaviours online

The course suits dogs of all ages and runs for 3 months, so there's plenty of time to work through all the tasks!

Places are limited, so if you'd like to secure your spot you can enrol via the link above!
