Don't despair – we have more tricks up our sleeves!
On this course, we'll work on making your everyday walks more enjoyable for both you and your dog. We have many different exercises that can help you with loose-lead walking, and together we'll find the ones that work best for you and your dog.
Because dog training should be FUN, we also spice up the course with entertaining tricks and enrichment exercises that strengthen the relationship between you and your dog, build confidence and make training even more enjoyable!
WHAT WE'LL WORK ON:
🐕 Walking nicely on the lead: How to teach your dog to walk on a loose lead, without pulling and frustration.
🐕 Connection and teamwork: How to become more interesting to your dog, even when the environment offers exciting distractions.
🐕 Loose-lead walking training: We introduce several different exercises and strategies, so that by the end of the course you've experienced which ones suit you and your dog best.
🐕 Rewards and success: How to reward smartly, build good habits and set your dog up for success.
🐕 Tricks and enrichment: Fun exercises that strengthen teamwork, give your dog mental stimulation and make both training and everyday walks more enjoyable!
Who is this course for?
Everyone is welcome on this course – all dogs and handlers! No prior experience necessary – we tailor the training to each individual.
INFO:
- Maximum 4 dogs on the course to ensure good individual attention – with us you should feel seen, heard and supported. We place great emphasis on both dog and handler experiencing success, enjoyment of training and development.
- After each course session, a tailored summary/homework is sent by email so you always have an overview of what we've trained.
- We use a method called clicker training on all our courses, and at Canis we're really skilled at clicker training. Clicker training is a reward-based, effective and fun training method! It's not a requirement to use the clicker itself, but of course we encourage everyone to give it a try.
TIME
The course runs for 4 weeks – one hour each Wednesday evening from 11 November to 2 December. The first evening is slightly longer, 19.00–20.15. The three remaining evenings we meet 19.15–20.15.
LOCATION
The course takes place outdoors at Lambertseter videregående skole. We have access to a school playground, grass area, a long covered area (handy in rainy weather...) and car parking.
