Puppies of all breeds and mixes from 9 weeks to approximately 5 months are welcome.
We train exclusively using reward-based methods.
INFO:
- Maximum 6 puppies on the course to ensure good personal and individual attention – with us you should feel seen, heard and cared for.
- After each course session, a tailored summary/homework is sent by email so you always have an overview of what we've trained on.
- We work in short sessions with many small breaks, so all the little ones can keep up the whole way through. During the breaks we practise being calm around other dogs and people – this is also important to train.
- We use a method called clicker training on all our courses, and at Canis we're really good at clicker training. Clicker training is a reward-based, effective and fun training method 🙂 It's not a requirement to use the clicker itself, but of course we encourage everyone to give it a try.
- The whole family is welcome on the course!
TIME
The course runs over 1 theory session + 6 Thursdays with practical training. The first session is an online theory evening at 19.00–21.00. The remaining 6 Thursday evenings are practical training at 18.00–19.00. Christmas break in weeks 52 and 53, meaning there are 4 course sessions before Christmas and 3 after. The final course session is Thursday 21 January.
LOCATION
The course takes place outdoors in beautiful surroundings at Kringsjå school. We have access to both a schoolyard, grassland, covered areas (handy in rainy weather...) and car parks.
PRICE
Full price is 2,950 kr. But we have several "early bird" options, so the earlier you enrol, the cheaper it becomes.

Self-control/impulse control using only pleasant, positive techniques that teach the puppy that it always pays to "ask" mum or dad first
Recall – how to teach your puppy to come when you call in any situation
Walking nicely on the lead
How to use play as an effective reward for desired behaviour
How to use treats as an effective reward for desired behaviour – not all dogs love food, so this is where having some good techniques comes in handy!
Getting your puppy to give up things it has found
Sit, down and stay
Training a stop signal, trained reward-based and without the use of punishment
Being calm around other dogs and people
During the theory session and during the practical training sessions while the puppies have breaks, we discuss socialisation, environmental training, puppy biting, alone training, everyday challenges that arise, and how and why we train reward-based. We also talk about how you can give your puppy good mental enrichment and stimulation.
