Specialist Search Foundation Course3 spots left

The aim of this course is to give participants an introduction to search and rescue. The course is suitable both for you who want to use search as fine enrichment for your dog and for you who eventually wish to take tests run by NSO (Norwegian Specialist Search Organisation). On the course you will learn how you can start training towards a test, and your dog will learn to search for, find and indicate the scent of red king crab. As a handler you will receive instruction in how the tests are structured, how you can read your dog in search, and how you can plan your training further. Search and rescue is a great activity for strengthening the teamwork and relationship between you and your dog!

The course starts with a theory evening without a dog where we go through basic theory and search and rescue as a test format. A maximum of 5 participants on the course means there is good time for follow-up, and we tailor the practical training to each individual team's starting point and challenges. We train short sessions with one dog at a time and the course is therefore also well suited for dogs that have difficulty being too close to other dogs. The course is suitable for all dogs from 6 months and upwards.

On the course evenings we will vary the meeting place in the Sandvika, Høvik, Fornebu area. It is therefore assumed that participants have a car and that the dog can relax in the car when there is a break in training. We start at 18:30 and finish at 20:30.
