Do you have a dog that pulls on the lead, gets easily distracted or has difficulty focusing on you during walks?
👉 Then this course is for you!
Walking nicely on the lead is about more than teaching your dog not to pull. For walks to go well, your dog also needs to be able to find calm, maintain contact with you and collaborate with you – even when things happen around you.
On this course, you'll learn how to build these skills in a way that makes it easier for your dog to succeed. We work on both the actual exercise of walking nicely on the lead, and the foundational skills that make it easier for your dog to choose to be with you during walks.
🐾 What do we work on?
Throughout the course, we'll work on things including:
- How to teach your dog to walk nicely on the lead
- Contact and focus on you – even when the surroundings are interesting
- How to train calm and self-control during walks
- How you can use rewards and arrangement to get better collaboration
- How to make it easier for your dog to make good choices
- The difference between training "walking nicely" and actually getting a dog that works well during walks
- How you can plan and structure your walks so that both you and your dog succeed
- Practical exercises and shared walks where we train these skills in a more natural setting
The goal isn't necessarily that your dog walks perfectly beside you the entire walk. The goal is better collaboration, more contact and calmer, more enjoyable walks for both you and your dog. ❤️

⚠️ Important regarding your dog's behaviour around other dogs
This is not a passing course.
We'll be training together with other dogs and going on shared walks, so your dog needs to be able to function in training in the proximity of other dogs.
If you have a dog where passing other dogs is the main problem, we instead recommend our Passing Course. That's where dog meetings and passing are the central focus.
If your dog, on the other hand, primarily pulls, has little contact with you or finds it difficult to find calm and collaborate during walks, this course is a good starting point! 🐾
Course start
📆 The course starts with practical sessions on Wednesday 14 October and will run on Wednesdays 17.30–19.00 in weeks 42–44.
👩💻 The online course will be available one week before the course starts.
👩🏫 Instructor is behaviour consultant Karin B. Lyng
