Canis Harstad

Canis Harstad offers courses and private sessions with a focus on modern, reward-based dog training. We have a broad course programme – from puppy classes and everyday obedience to nose work, search and rescue and instructor training – with the aim of creating calm dogs, engaged owners and good cooperation.

The courses are led by Julie Bya, Canis instructor with broad expertise in dog training, ethology, behaviour analysis and learning theory. Julie is also a judge and instructor in search and rescue through NSO, an instructor in nose work, Fear Free Certified Professional and has many years of experience with both family dogs, competition dogs and operational search dogs.

Canis Harstad is based in its own training facilities in Store-Fauskevåg outside Harstad, with a large training hall, indoor search areas and varied outdoor training environments that provide optimal conditions for practical dog training throughout the year.
