A puppy's early experiences have a significant impact on how the dog develops as an adult. This course therefore focuses primarily on building an important relationship between the puppy and handler, combined with sensible environmental exposure and socialisation, as well as teaching simple foundation skills. By focusing on this during the critical early period, you'll establish a solid foundation for a calm and harmonious dog.
The course is tailored for the youngest puppies aged 2-7 months.
The puppy will learn:
• Focus/contact
• Play
• Recall
• Walking nicely on the lead
• Simple foundation skills
You will learn:
• How dogs learn
• Dog body language
• What reward means to your dog
• Marking desired behaviour
• Enrichment exercises for puppies, introduction to nose work
The course consists of 6 evening sessions of approximately 1.5 hours each. The evening sessions combine theory and practical exercises.
Time: Thursdays 18:00 – approx. 19:30
There is no course during the autumn half-term week (1 October)
