Hi! I'm Mona Garcia and I'm an instructor at Canis Stavanger.
I mainly deliver puppy classes, adolescent dog courses, recall courses and play development courses. What I love most about being an instructor is helping dogs and handlers build strong collaboration through reward-based training, play and mastery.
Some of the most exciting things I do with dogs are search and rescue work and play development. I find it fascinating to see how play can strengthen both the relationship between dog and handler and make training fun, effective and motivating. At the same time, search and rescue is a wonderful activity that lets dogs use their natural abilities and experience success.
I'm also responsible for content in our online courses, where I develop and quality-assure course material so that participants get a rewarding and inspiring experience – whether they're training at home or joining us for in-person sessions.
I look forward to meeting both new and experienced dog owners on our courses, and to sharing knowledge, training joy and positive experiences for both two- and four-legged participants.
